    Product Overview

PURRFIP™ GS-441524 Injection is a high-purity, ready-to-use antiviral medication specifically developed for the treatment of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) in both kittens and adult cats. As a potent nucleoside analog, it targets and inhibits the replication of the feline coronavirus (FCoV) that causes FIP, a once nearly fatal disease, offering a lifeline for affected felines of all ages. With a standardized concentration and fixed volume, it ensures precise dosing and convenient administration, making it a reliable choice for cat owners and veterinary professionals alike.

    Indications & Efficacy

PURRFIP™ GS-441524 Injectable is indicated for the treatment of all forms of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), including effusive (wet) FIP, non-effusive (dry) FIP, as well as FIP with ocular or neurological complications.
It works by mimicking RNA building blocks to halt the replication of the FIP virus (FIPV), effectively suppressing viral activity and preventing further damage to the cat’s immune system and organs.
Clinical studies have shown that GS-441524 has an overall treatment success rate of over 92%, with higher success rates in uncomplicated cases and young cats. Most cats show visible improvement within 24-72 hours of treatment, including reduced fever, increased appetite, improved activity levels, and resolution of effusions (in wet FIP) or granulomatous lesions (in dry FIP). With a standard 12-week treatment course, it helps cats regain weight, restore normal immune function, and achieve full remission in most cases.

    Dosage & Administration

Administer subcutaneously (under the skin) once daily, 7 days a week, under the guidance of a veterinarian. The dosage is determined based on the cat’s body weight and the type of FIP, as follows:
    • Wet/Dry FIP (without ocular/neurological signs): 4-6 mg/kg of body weight per day. Kittens and wet FIP cases may use the lower end of the dosage range, while dry FIP cases may use the higher end.
    • Ocular FIP (without neurological signs): 8 mg/kg of body weight per day.
    • Neurological FIP (with or without ocular signs): 10 mg/kg of body weight per day. For severe cases, the dosage may be adjusted upward under veterinary supervision.
Dosage Calculation Formula: Daily injection volume (ml) = (Cat’s weight in kg × Recommended dosage in mg/kg) ÷ 20mg/ml.
For example, a 3kg cat with dry FIP requires (3kg × 8mg/kg) ÷ 20mg/ml = 1.2ml per day. It is recommended to weigh the cat weekly and adjust the dosage accordingly as the cat gains weight during treatment.

Administration Guide: Lift the skin fold on the cat’s neck or back, insert the needle at a 45-degree angle, and inject the solution slowly. Rotate the injection site each time to avoid local irritation. Use a 3ml syringe and 21G-23G (1.5-inch) needle for administration, and disinfect the injection site with an alcohol swab before and after injection.

    Precautions & Contraindications

    Contraindications

Do not use in cats allergic to GS-441524 or any of the ingredients in the product.

    Precautions

    • For veterinary use only. Strictly follow the veterinarian’s advice for dosage and treatment duration; do not arbitrarily reduce the dosage or stop treatment early, as this may lead to treatment failure or relapse.
    • Pregnant or lactating cats should consult a veterinarian before use, as the potential risks and benefits need to be carefully evaluated.
    • Avoid concurrent administration with lysine (which may antagonize the effect of GS-441524) or interferon (which is ineffective for FIP treatment). Concurrent use with cephalosporin drugs may cause disulfiram-like reactions, so co-administration is not recommended.
    • Common side effects include mild redness, swelling, pain, or warmth at the injection site. In rare cases, allergic reactions (rash, urticaria, difficulty breathing), gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), or temporary changes in liver/kidney function may occur. If any abnormal signs appear, stop administration immediately and consult a veterinarian.
    • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children and other pets. Unopened vials can be stored for up to 2 years when kept at 3-9°C; opened vials should be used within a short period and stored at 3-45°C.
    • For cats with wet FIP and severe ascites or chest fluid, do not drain the fluid completely without veterinary guidance (complete drainage may cause shock or death). Drain only when the fluid causes breathing or movement difficulties, and drain no more than 30% of the fluid at a time.

    Storage & Shelf Life

    • Storage Condition: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep at a temperature between 3°C and 30°C.
    • Shelf Life: 2 years from the production date when stored unopened under the recommended conditions. Once opened, use within 7 days for optimal potency.

    Packaging

Each vial contains 6ml of GS-441524 injection (20mg/ml), packed in a sterile glass vial with a sealed cap to ensure sterility and prevent contamination.
